Sisters Marian and Lucia Aguilar opened Ceresia in 2013 with Bret Asavaroengchai, a Thai-American raised mainly in Bangkok. The name is Latin for cherry. Bret roasts small batches weekly, with Mexico's Chanjul Estate, Brazil's Fazenda Río Verde and Kenya's Kianjuki AA among the origins.
The shop is a single ground-floor room with exposed red brick walls and a window bar of high stools facing the street. A glass window in the brick wall beside the bar looks into the roasting room.
