The business began in 2013 as an online store for Japanese homeware, until coffee equipment drew the most interest. The first café opened beside Kyoto Station in 2016, then came Singapore in 2017 and Bangkok in 2019.
Roasting happens in a renovated machiya in Nishijin, on a Loring S35 Kestrel and a Giesen W6A. Producers include Carmelo Yujra in Bolivia and Nadine Rasch of Primavera Coffee in Guatemala.
